Geena May Texas 4000

Why should you donate to Texas 4000 for Cancer instead of donating directly to a cancer research facility?

 

If you give money to a cancer research center, then that is a great start to helping fight cancer; however, you wouldn’t raise any awareness for the cause. If I were to give $50 to a research center, then they would just have my $50. If I were to give $50 to Texas 4000 for Cancer, I would be contributing my money to spread awareness about cancer and cancer research. My 50 dollars will now go towards encouraging more people to donate money. Maybe my 50 dollars will convince someone else to donate $100, and maybe they will convince others to do the same. Donating money to spread awareness will ultimately raise more money for cancer research because your donation can start off a chain of donations that would not have happened if you simply donated the money to a local Cancer Center. While a lot of the Texas 4000 donations go directly to cancer research centers such as M.D. Anderson Cancer or the University of Texas Biomedical Engineering Program, some of the donations are also used to raise awareness for cancer. It is used to fund portions of our events such as Tribute Gala in which Texas 4000 will raise even more money in the end. It will also be used to support our ride to Alaska so we can touch more people’s lives through the Texas 4000 pillars of Hope, Knowledge, and Charity.
