Day 54
Cecile Fuchs
Words from my Cousin Heidi:
As many of you know my mother, Geena's great aunt felt very blessed to be part of such a loving and inclusive family. As most people on this list she, was taken too soon from us. In early 2014 she was diagnosed with brain cancer. A few short months later my family suffered a great loss just 2 days after mother's day. The good thing is we believe she didn't suffer much and left on her own terms. I remember her saying that she didn't want to be a burden to us. Well Mom was never a burden...what she was was a caretaker, whether it be after one ofher children's surgeries or illness, or her husband's, she was always there...even when we were 1000 miles away. Let's not forget her running up to Orlando when our miracle babies were born to help out with her most prized blessings. Two little granddaughters who were born at about 2 pounds. Kaili & Lexi became known as our miracle babies. Mom was there to help out whenever needed and would be so proud of the young ladies they have turned into.
Not only was she a caretaker, she was a friend & confidant to many. I know your Aunt Susan and mom both had many a late night conversation with her and she treasured those calls. What she also treasured was all the times our families were able to get together so that the next generation would remain as close as the previous ones.
Cecile was very active in raising funds for cancer research, specifically the PAP Corp. She would be so proud of the undertaking you have done with the bike challenge. What you may not know, was that there was a while she rode also. Dad & I cherish those memories, even if she did joking say that dad caused one of her bike accidents...yet she did get back up on the bike to pedal again...I think the early mornings finally got to her and sleeping was more appealing....
